NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. THERE WILL BE TWO WINENRS: THE FACE OF FOX; AND THE NEW MEXICO’S CW/MY50 TV STAR VJ. EACH WINNER IS REFERRED TO HEREIN AS “SPOKESPERSON”; AND COLLECTIVELY “SPOKESPERSONS”.
1. HOW TO ENTER
1 (a). The Contest to determine the Spokespersons will begin on Monday, June 17, 2013 and end on Friday, October 4, 2013.
1 (b). Two (2) options to enter:
i. Fill out the entry form and submit a video (60 seconds long or less) to www.kasa.com beginning on Monday, June 17, 2013. The video should be about yourself and why you would be the best Spokespersons. Only one entry per person will be accepted; multiple entries will be disqualified. Do not use licensed or copyrighted music, video or still pictures in your video submission. If a video submission contains inappropriate content, in the sole discretion of the station, the contestant will be disqualified. Examples of inappropriate content include, but are not limited to, nudity, intellectual property of others, or material that would not be suitable for a broadcast audience under applicable law. Entry form must be completely filled out and a video must be uploaded to qualify an entrant. Deadline for entries is 10:00AM MST Friday, August 9, 2013.
ii. Or complete the Face of Fox/Star VJ application at the local Face of Fox/Star VJ Casting Call on
Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 11 am to 3 pm at Coronado Mall located at 6600 Menaul NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110
Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 11 am to 3 pm at the Roswell Mall located at 4501 N Main St, Roswell, NM 88201;
Live auditions limited to the first 100 contestants at each audition listed above. Be prepared to tape up to 1 minute telling us why you should be the next Spokesperson. Eligible videos will be posted at kasa.com. The auditions will be managed by a “number in line” system. Numbers will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open during normal Mall business hours. A number will be issued only when a completed application is presented. Do not use licensed or copyrighted music, video, or still pictures in your video. If a video contains inappropriate content, in the sole discretion of the station, the contestant will be disqualified. Examples of inappropriate content include, but are not limited to, nudity, intellectual property of others, or material that would not be suitable for a broadcast audience under applicable law. Entry forms must be completely filled out to qualify an entrant.
1 (c). For the avoidance of doubt, in either entry method, videos MUST NOT include any logos or branding on shirts, hats, posters, signs, etc. Videos MUST NOT include copyrighted materials or images to which you do not have the rights. Videos MUST NOT include any copyrighted music to which you do not have the rights. Video submissions MUST NOT contain any specific personal contact information about yourself or others. An individual may submit only one video for the duration of the promotion. All entrants must have a current, valid driver’s license. Failure to obey these requirements may lead to disqualification. The Station is not responsible for Internet transmission errors, illegible entries, service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent transmitting his/her entry.
1 (d). Applications for the live casting call will only be considered eligible if they are complete. Eligible applications include a completed 2013 APPLICATION from kasa.com or completed application provided at The Face of Fox/Star VJ Casting Call as listed above.
1 (e). Applications for the online entries will only be considered eligible if they are complete, and entrants agree that they are above the age of twenty one (21) through online validation.
1 (f). One entry per person, no matter the entry method.
2. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
2 (a). Decisions of the Station management with respect to the contest are final. The 2 winners will be selected by likeability, star quality, and brand relevance via online voting and judges’ decisions.
2 (b). Beginning Monday, June 24, 2013, qualified online submissions will be posted to kasa.com. Videos can be viewed but not voted on at this time.
2 (c). After the online video submission deadline of 10:00 AM MST Friday, August 9, 2013 has passed, 2 KASA FOX and New Mexico’s CW/My50 TV will post all eligible videos on kasa.com. Eligible online video submissions and submissions from live casting calls will be posted in the order they are received between Monday, June 10, 2013 and Monday, August 12, 2013 during normal business hours, but cannot be voted upon until August 13, 2013.
2 (d). Round One: Beginning Tuesday, August 13, 2013, viewers will be able to log onto kasa.com and vote for their favorite eligible contestant(s) by watching that contestant’s full video. Each video must be watched in its entirety in order to register a vote. Individuals may watch full videos of various contestants. No robots or other automatic processes are allowed.
2 (e). In Round One of the contest, Judges votes count for 75% of each contestant’s final score, and online votes count as 25% of the contestant’s final score toward the selection of the Top 10. Online voting for Round One will close on Friday, August 23, 2013, at 11:59 PM MST. Judges want to see likeability, star quality, and brand relevance. Top candidates will be energetic, fun-to-watch spokespeople who can represent 2 KASA Fox or New Mexico’s CW and My50 TV on-air and online. The expert panel judges will make their decision based on on-camera performance, originality of effort, personality, as well as mastery of web and mobile communication systems.
2 (f). Round Two: On Monday, August 26, 2013, the Top 10 contestants will be contacted and their videos will be posted on kasa.com by 10:00 AM MST. The top ten will be required to produce a second audition video (60 seconds long or less) on their own and at own expense and submit it to kasa.com no later than Friday, August 30, 2013, at 10:00 AM MST. 2 KASA FOX and New Mexico’s CW/My50 TV will post all eligible videos on kasa.com no later than Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Viewers will then be able to log onto kasa.com and vote for their favorite contestant out of the Top 10. Each video must be watched in its entirety in order for it to register a vote. Judges votes count for 75% of each contestant’s score. Online votes count as 25% of the contestant’s final score toward the selection of the Top 4. Voting for the second round will close on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 11:59pm MST.
2 (g). Round Three: After online votes and judge votes are computed, on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, the Top 4 contestants will be contacted by the station and their videos will be posted on kasa.com. Online voting will no longer be tabulated in in the third and final Round after the top 4 are chosen. Judges votes count for 100% of each contestant’s final score at that point. All Round Three participants must sign releases.
2 (h). The Top 4 will be required to come into the 2 KASA Fox/New Mexico’s CW/My50 TV studios during the week of September 23, 2013 for the next evaluation process. This could include an interview session with our panel of judges as well as another video tape audition. The Top 4 contestants must be available to appear on New Mexico Style on 2 KASA Fox, live, on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 7:30am to 9am.
2 (i). Judges votes count for 100% of each contestant’s final score in the last round to get to the winners. Criteria: Judges want to see likeability, star quality, and brand relevance.
2 (j). The two winners of the Face of Fox/Star VJ Contest will be announced during New Mexico Style, airing 8-9AM, on 2 KASA Fox, Friday. October 4, 2013. Winner MUST present to win.
2 (k). All finalists must pass both a criminal background and driving record check. A valid driver’s license is required to win.
2 (l). Winners must execute and return the required 2 KASA Fox or New Mexico’s CW/My50 TV contract within ten (10) days of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be chosen by a combination of judging panel votes, background check and station management input. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required contract and liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize. The liability/publicity release needs to be filled out by all Top 10 before we send them on any assignments. Failure to sign will disqualify.
2 (m). Winners must be willing to sign station’s standard form contract to work for the Station for a one full year from 10/7/13 – 10/7/14. Winner must have access to his/her own transportation for some shoots, appearances and recordings.
2 (n). It is the winner’s responsibility to make any necessary arrangements to be able to participate in all tapings and various appearances both during the weekdays, nights and weekends. The winner will be featured in New Mexico Style on-air, radio, print, digital media, and any other elements within the station’s image.
2 (o). ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. Contestants can either come to the live casting call or submit a video. They cannot do both. Application materials must be provided at the time of live casting call audition as well as when online video is submitted. Emailed or mailed applications will not be accepted.
2 (p). All applications, photos and material submitted online or recorded at local Face of Fox/Star VJ Casting Call will be retained by 2 KASA Fox, New Mexico’s CW, and My50 TV and become the property of the Stations and will not be returned to the applicants.
2 (q). All dates, times and locations and requirements listed in these official rules and in the application are subject to change.
3. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
3 (a). The contest is open to all 2 KASA Fox or New Mexico’s CW or My50 TV viewers eligible to watch in the U.S. who are 21 years of age or older.
3 (b). Employees of 2 KASA Fox, New Mexico’s CW, or My50 TV (the “Stations”), its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win. Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
3 (c). Only one winner per household is permitted in any Station contest.
3 (d). Applicant must hold a valid Driver’s License and be authorized to work in the United States.
3 (e). Applicant must not be a candidate for public office, and if selected as a Spokesperson, must agree not to become a candidate for public office until after the Spokesperson contracted term of one year.
4. PRIZES
4 (a). There will be two Prizes: i. The first is a one (1) year employment contract with LIN Television Corporation d/b/a KASA as the Face of Fox. The TV Personality will be a full-time contract employee and will be paid an hourly rate of $12.01 for an annual salary of $25,000 (subject to taxes and other withholdings required by law) with full benefits, subject to LIN’s employment policies, for the contract year.
ii. The second is s a one (1) year employment contract with LIN Television Corporation, providing services to KWBQ/KASY as the Star VJ. The TV Personality will be a full-time contract employee and will be paid an hourly rate of $12.01 for an annual salary of $25,000 (subject to taxes and other withholdings required by law) with full benefits, subject to LIN’s employment policies, for the contract year.
4 (b). Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Forms or the equivalent The Station in its sole discretion may require contestants (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the Station, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
4 (c). There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.
4 (d). If either of the winning Spokespersons cannot fulfill the 1 year employment contract or violate the employment guidelines for 2 KASA FOX, New Mexico’s CW, or My50 TV, the stations have the option to ask the second or third place winner to assume the remainder of the contract. If either original TV Personality defaults on the contract, the second or third place runner-up will be paid on the same hourly basis for the months remaining in the original TV Personality contract year.
i. The winner must sign an employment agreement with LIN Television Corporation to claim the prize and must satisfactorily perform all services under the agreement in order to be paid.
4 (e). Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. Intellectual property developed during the winner’s term of employment belongs to the stations.
4 (f). All contestants agree to the use of his/her/their name(s) and likeness(es) in publicity and programming without any additional compensation. By entering this promotion, contestants acknowledge that 2 KASA FOX, kasa.com , KRQE-TV, krqe.com, KWBQ-TV, KASY-TV, and all other sponsors and venues have the right to publicize and broadcast his/her/their name, voice and likeness, the fact that he/she/they competed, and all matters incidental thereto. All contestants agree that the nature of this promotion requires auditions and tryouts that will not include any compensation for contestants. No employer-employee relationship will be formed between the sponsors and any contestant.
4 (g). By entering this promotion, each entrant forever discharges and releases 2 KASA FOX, kasa.com, KRQE-TV, krqe.com, New Mexico’s CW, kwbq.com, My50 TV, LIN Television, sponsors and their respective corporate parents, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, and demands of any kind arising from or in connection with the promotion, including, without limitation, responsibility for property damage, loss of life or personal injury resulting from or in connection with participating in the promotion or from or in connection with use or receipt of the prize(s), however caused.
5. CONDITIONS
5 (a). Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
5 (b). The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any competition or prize-related event is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.
5 (c). Failure to comply with the contest rules or the Station’s website Terms of Service may result in an entrant’s disqualification solely at the discretion of the Station.
5 (d). The Station is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.
5 (e). Copies of the written contest rules and a list of winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at the main studio 2 KASA Fox, 13 Broadcast Plaza SW, Albuquerque, NM 87104.
